Technology: Biomass gasification

Achievements

Earth Energy that is conducting feasibility studies for developing a 20MW grid-tied biomass power plant in Gulu District. Received investment from African Development Bank and Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company (UECCC). Once construction is completed, this will be the first and largest grid-tied biomass gasification power plant in Africa.
II) REPARLE (Renewable Energy Powering Agriculture and Rural Livelihood Enhancement) is developing an off-grid electrification project in Norway District to provide agro-processing services to 1500 farmers. The SPV received investment from UNCDF and other funders
